These pens were perfect! I painted my Nintendo DS Lite and it looks sick! The pens were easy to use and mix colors, no fumes and they dryer quickly. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

★★★★★  Good paint but there was one hitch...
Post date : Thursday, Sep 12 2019

As usual, these Uni-Posca paint pens perform superbly. The only issue I have with these 5M markers is that the orange does not match the orange in the1M or 3M pens. It is "closer" to the "light orange" in the other set than it is to the orange. The pen cap matches the orange caps on the other sets, so I was kinda bummed about that. On the plus side, I guess I have 3 shades of orange now because I doubt the seller will replace it.The other colors all matched the 1M and 3M sets perfectly. I check all pens when they arrive and I recommend you do the same BEFORE you intermix you sets. Just lay down some blocks of color side by side on some scrap canvas or watercolor paper. Also, I have tried 3 other brands of acrylic paint pens. The Uni-Posca pens outperform most brands. Unless you want to spend $9-$12 PER PEN, the Uni-Posca pens are the way to go. Granted, the color selection is limited compared to the high-end paint pens, but you can supplement the Uni-Posca pens with those if necessary.ALSO, if you have a limited budget, stick with multiple sets of the Uni-Poscas, open the pens, and "adjust" the color with your own paint. Just apply the adjusted color to the caps so you can readily see your new color while working with the pens. Let's face it, $30 for 15 pens you can "adjust" is a much better bargain than 15 pens that will cost you $150-$200. BTW, the pens arrived in 4 days which was unexpected.

★★★★★  Can prepare several pens at the same time
Post date : Sunday, Sep 1 2019

Fantastic value: Fun markers, really nice compact storage box/package. But instructions are in Japanese, so: (1) Shake the pens for 30 seconds to a minute...you can shake several markers at the same time. You'll notice the tip is white. (2) Press the tip against a piece of scrap paper or cardboard, and pump the pen up and down until paint starts to make its way into the tip...again, you can do this with more than one pen at the same time. They make a nice fat line, and dry pretty quick...only need to wait about 1 minute or less before painting a new layer. So they're great if you like to paint eyes, flowers, and anything else that needs a few layers of details, and if you like to work at a fast pace. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

★★★★★  surf board artist
Post date : Thursday, Aug 22 2019

my son wanted to customize his surfboard . This was a first time trial and the paint markers were great. He did no prepping the board (even had some wax on and sand) but had a great time . The colors were wonderful and has thus far (from this summer) held up. Now his talent for painting is another story but he did have a unique board

★★★★★  Fantastic Product! Great for Kids Projects!
Post date : Sunday, Aug 4 2019

These are fantastic! I have never used paint pens before, but I saw them at a kids museum and decided to try them. I love the variety of colors that comes in the set and the pack is a great value for the money. Most of the writing on the box is in Chinese, which isn't an issue- just wanted to forewarn future buyers. :)The markers are unique from other products in two ways- they are literally fast drying paint, so the colors are bold and cover the object you are writing on completely. There is very little run (unless you press to much), and when the paint drys (in a matter of minutes), it leaves a nice shiny finish. I used these to make pet rocks with the kids, to decorate Easter eggs (I dyed them first, then used the markers to draw designs over top), paper, wood projects, and I'm sure they would work on tons more surfaces.I appreciate all of the reviews I read on discovery japan, and I hope you do to. If you found my review helpful, please let me know below. Thanks!

★★★★★  Best paint pens!! Just be sure to have the know-how to use them properly unlike most of the negative reviewers here...
Post date : Thursday, Jul 11 2019

Extremely nice, I really love these paint pens on paper or canvas. They work amazing on Canvas, but if you are using these on paper, it takes a bit of practice to get used to the techniques of using the pens without leaving any rough areas, flakes, etc.I have read a lot of reviews and a bunch of the negative ones seems to stem from the people not knowing HOW to use these paint pens on paper material since they are very absorbant. These paint pens are acrylic based so they dry extremely fast and very evenly.Just be sure to shake the pens (CAP SIDE UP, or it will leak all over) and then use a piece of scrap paper (make some lines) then pump the pen a few times, make some more lines (to prevent too much paint from pooling) BEFORE using them to draw on anything.DO NOT SHAKE THE PENS CAP SIDE DOWN. You aren't supposed to do this anyways with acrylic based paint pens from my experience, as the paint will leak into the tip from the force of the shaking. ALWAYS CAP SIDE UP.

★★★★★  Perfect for rock painting! Highly recommend
Post date : Tuesday, May 14 2019

My kids and I recently got into rock painting. We tried to use the little paint pots from Michael's and some paint brushes. Although it was fun we noticed other people were making amazing looking rocks. We asked someone what they used and they said these markers. We bought these markers and we ourselves turned into little Picasso's. Our rocks were now the talk of the group. These paint markers are so easy to use and the colors come out brilliantly on rocks! No need to prime. And you can even color over the other colors and it will cover them perfectly. I can't say enough good things about these markers. I need to buy more soon because we ran out of some of the colors.

★★★★★  Great but possibly used markers?
Post date : Friday, May 3 2019

Edit: I couldn't find their return policy, but am unable to return these markers despite the fact they are clearly used. I initially thought it was odd that the paint was flowing from all the markers.I just used the white marker and it shows visible signs of having been used.At $40 it's just really upsetting. I love these markers but I'm bummed that after spending that much, I'm not even getting new markers. I have no way of telling how much paint is left.Original review:On a different order of POSCA markers the nibs were initially white and I had to press to get the paint flowing. In this order, all of the markers already had paint on them which makes me feel like these may have been previously used. At $40+ that's a bit concerning. I looked through previous questions to see if anyone else had asked about that, but there were none. The flow and paint is great as usual, but now I'm a bit bummed that the markers will run out sooner because they made have been used/returned. I'm not sure though!
